Feed Unknown Responders

Modified on Mon, 30 Mar at 10:57 AM

Unknown responders are tags that are detected by the antenna but are not linked to an animal in Velos.

You can allow these animals to receive a basic feed amount until they are properly registered.

What is an Unknown Responder?

An unknown responder is:

  • A tag that is sending data

  • Not linked to any animal in the system

Without configuration, these animals may not receive the correct feed amount.

Assign a Default Group for Unknown Responders

To make sure unknown responders receive feed:

  1. Select Settings from the menu.

  2. Under Farm, select General.

  3. In the field Group, select the group where unknown responders should be placed.

  4. Select Submit.

Unknown responders are now fed according to the feed curve of the selected group.

Note

Assign unknown responders to a group that uses a safe and basic feed curve.

Always register the animal and link the tag as soon as possible to prevent incorrect feeding.
