Configure Animals at Unexpected Pen Detection

Modified on Wed, 18 Mar at 10:12 AM

The Animals at unexpected pen tile on the dashboard shows animals that are detected in a different pen than their assigned pen.

The tile shows correct data only if animal identification is configured correctly. You can set this up in two ways:

  • Using the Cow Locating system. A license and (I)FERP tags are required.
  • Using another tag-based identification system, such as a feed station or milking robot. Tags with ISO identification are required.

After you set up one or more of these methods, the system is ready to use.

Use the Cow Locating System

When you use the Cow Locating system, you must configure the map locations in VPaint. The locations are usually created during installation of the Cow Locating system. If the locations are not available, contact your dealer.

Open VPaint:

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Under Positioning, select VPaint.

Use Other Tag-based Identification Systems

When using other ISO identification points, such as milking robots or feed stations, you must add the Behaviour component (BC) ISO Animal Location Detector for each point.

Note

To use this behaviour component, a VPack must be running at the ISO identification point.

For each identification point a BC must be added.

  1. Select Settings from the menu.
  2. Under System, select Behaviour components.
  3. Select Add behaviour component.
  4. In  Type, select ISO Animal Location Detector.
  5. In Name enter a description for the BC.
  6. Select Next.
  7. In V-pack, select the identification point that you want to use for checking the correct pen.
  8. In Location select the identification point is.
  9. Select Submit.
  10. Repeat these steps for all identification points that you want to use for checking the correct pen.
