Performance Tab in the Herd App

Modified on Tue, 22 Jul at 11:22 AM

The Performance tab in the Herd app shows how well your herd is performing based on recent behavior patterns. It helps you track trends over time and identify group-level issues.

What You See on the Performance Graph

  • Performance percentage
Shows the percentage of animals eating, ruminating or inactive at a specific time of the day. Hover over the graph to view the percentage and number of animals for each time frame.
  • Behavior pattern deviations
Shows the herd performance over time. It helps you spot gradual changes or sudden drops in performance, compared to the herd’s usual behavior.
  • Date range selector: Use the calendar at the top of the graph to select a specific time period. You can choose from predefined ranges (e.g., past month) or set custom start and end dates to analyze trends over time.
  • Notes
Add notes to provide context for changes in performance. If a performance drop is observed or expected, select a reason from the predefined list or enter a custom note:
    • Ration change

    • Heavy weather

    • Heat stress

    • Hoof trimming

    • Custom note

How to Interpret Performance Percentages

  • A 100% score means no animals are showing immediate signs of decreased health.

  • A sudden drop often indicates a short-term event affecting multiple animals, such as feed delivery issues or a pen move.

  • A gradual decline may point to structural problems, like nutrition issues or environmental stress.
