Animal flags are an easy way of administering and highlighting relevant information about your animals.
How to Use Animal Flags
Animal flags let you mark cows with information that fits your specific protocols. These are the most common ways to use them:
- Quickly view flagged animals. Filter by flag in the Cow app to get an instant overview of animals with a certain flag.
- Assign flags:
- To many animals at once. Use the Quick Entry feature in the Cow app or add an action button in a custom worklist. For step-by-step instructions, see Create a custom worklist for an example of adding a flag via an action button.
- To individual cows. Open the Animal Details screen to assign flags directly.
- Filter and organize worklists or reports. Use flags as filters, columns, or sort options to tailor your worklist and/or reports.
How to Create Animal Flags
- Select the Settings app.
- Select Flags in the left pane.
- Select New flag in the upper-right corner. A new window opens.
- Enter a Name. Use a clear and descriptive label.
- Enter an Abbreviation of max. 12 characters. This will be shown when there is limited space such as in columns.
- Choose a color for the flag.

Two predefined flags are already available. You cannot remove them and you can only change their color.
- Sexed semen: Marks animals for breeding with sexed semen. Ensures the optimal insemination window is shown.
- Do not trim: Marks animals that no longer need to be trimmed.
NoteFlags can still only be assigned and removed manually, not automatically.
