Use the Health Graph to Analyze Animal Behaviour

Modified on Thu, 29 Jan at 12:46 PM

The Health Graph provides detailed insights into an animal’s behavioral trends and health status. It combines data on eating, ruminating, inactivity, health score, and calendar events to help you assess animal well-being over time. You can customize the graph to focus on the data that matters most to you.

What the Health Graph Shows

The health graph consist of two sections:

  1. Line graph: Shows health score and behaviour trends over time, along with health issues and calendar events.
  2. Bar graph: Shows a 48-hour detailed bar of the behavior in colored blocks.

Line Graph

  • Health Score (from 0 to 10):

    • Appears as an orange line

    • Shows how the animal's health has changed over time

    • Shows hourly values when viewing 7 or 14 days within the past 30 days; otherwise, shows daily values

  • Behavior Trends (in hours):

    • Eating (dark blue line)

    • Ruminating (light blue line)

    • Inactivity (grey line): includes standing rest, lying rest, and sleep

  • Calendar Events:

    • Includes: inseminations, calvings, and heat scores

    • Hover over icons for details

  • Health Issues:

    • Shown at the top of the graph for quick visibility

Bar Graph

  • Shows a 48-hour detailed bar of the behavior in colored blocks

  • Colors indicate type of behavior

  • Width represents duration

  • Urgent health issues are marked by a red line above the bar

  • You can select a date on the line graph to view a specific 48-hour period in the bar graph. This function is available for the last 30 days.

Where to Find the Health Graph

You can open the Health Graph from three locations:

  • Health checks worklist

  • Cow details page: Accessible via the search bar or the list of animals

  • Custom worklist: Add the animal to a custom worklist to open the graph

How to Use the Health Graph

  1. Interpret the Health Score line

    • A downward trend may indicate emerging health issues

    • A rising score suggests recovery or stability

    • Use together with behavior lines for a clearer picture

  2. Navigate the line graph:

    • Select a time range (7 to 60 days)

    • Compare the health score with behavior trends over time

    • For shorter time periods, more detailed data is shown

  3. View 48 hour details in the bar graph
    1. The colors indicate behavior type.
    2. The width represents behavior duration.
    3. Only urgent health issues are shown in the bar graph. These are indicated with a red horizontal line above the bar graph.
