Hardware Compatibility Migrating to Nedap Now : Nedap Livestock

Before you convert an existing Velos installation to Nedap Now, check the SmartTags, VPU, and reader.

Some Velos hardware can continue to be used with Nedap Now. Other hardware must be replaced or limits the functionality available in Nedap Now.

Existing hardware	Compatible with Nedap Now?	Requirements or limitations
SmartTag Leg	No	SmartTag Leg cannot be used with Nedap Now.
SmartTag Neck	Yes	Available functionality depends on the SmartTag Neck type and production year.
SmartTag Ear	Yes	SmartTag Ear is compatible only with Nedap Now.

Nedap Now requires a VP8002.

Existing hardware	Compatible with Nedap Now?	Required action
VP8001	No	Replace the VP8001 with a VP8002.
VP8002	Yes	No VPU replacement is required.

Existing hardware	Compatible with Nedap Now?	Requirements or limitations
VP4101	Yes, with limitations	Subscription SmartTags, SmartTag Ear, and Heat stress are not available.
VP4102	Yes	Required for Subscription SmartTags, SmartTag Ear, and Heat stress.

Some Nedap Now functionality depends on the installed SmartTags and reader.
