Handle Animals on the Lameness Checks worklist

Modified on Fri, 20 Feb at 4:20 PM

Use the steps below to manage animals on the Active tab, for example, to confirm a trim, mark an animal with a Do not trim flag or remove them from the list.

  1. Go to the Worklist dashboard and select the Lameness checks tile. The Active tab opens by default.
  2. Prioritize animals with a  Strong decline issue. These animals offer the greatest improvement when treated early.
  3. Review the animal's data. Use the following columns to assess each case:
    • Reason: Shows type and urgency of the animal is on the worklist.
    • Locomotion score: Shows the actual locomotion score.
    • Trend: Shows the animal's trend over the past 24 hours.
    • #Trims: Shows the number of trim events since previous dry off (or calving date if no dry off date is available).
    • Last trim: Date of the last trim event.
  4. To further evaluate the animal's locomotion history:
    1. Select the arrow icon at the end of the row to open the locomotion graph .
    2. Review the data in the graph. See Understanding the Locomotion Score and the Locomotion Graph for more help interpreting the graph.
  5. Select one of the following actions per animal:
    1. Trimmed: Select   to confirm the animal was trimmed. Trims can also be imported via the supported data connectors.
    2. Remove from list: Select remove the animal from the Active tab. The animal will not show on the list for the following 30 days.
    3. Do not trim: Select to add the flag Do not trim (DNT) to the animal. Animals with this flag will never appear on the Lameness checks worklist until the flag is removed.
Note

After trimming or removing from the list, the cow enters a period of 30 days and is temporarily excluded from the worklist.
