Manually Add an Animal to the System

Use the Add animals feature to manually enter individual animals into the system. This feature is intended for users who do not use a farm management system or cannot connect via a data connector. 

1. In the Cow app, select Add animals. 
2. Fill in the required and optional fields: 

   • Animal number: A number of your choice used to identify the animal.

   • Life number: A globally unique identifier that includes a geographic code.

   • Tag 1–3: Tag numbers linked to the animal. 

   • Pen: The area where the animal is housed.

   • Name: The name of the animal (optional).

   • Birth: The animal’s birth date. This is required to enable calendar events.

   • Last insemination: The date of the animal’s most recent insemination (optional).

   • Last calving: The date of the animal’s most recent calving (optional).

3. Select Save. The animal is added to the system.
