Using the Data Connector App

Modified on Wed, 2 Jul at 12:34 PM

The Data Connector app enables seamless data exchange between Nedap Now and external partner systems. It integrates with herd management software, milking equipment, and national animal registration platforms. This helps reduce manual data entry, minimize errors, and keep data consistent across systems.

Integration Methods

Nedap Now supports two integration methods, depending on the technical requirements of the external system.

1. File-Based Connectors

These connectors exchange data using files and require a local computer to initiate the process:

  • CSV Connector
  • Taurus Connector
  • Delpro Connector
  • GEA DairyPlan Connector

2. API Connectors

These connectors use direct server-to-server communication via an API. No local installation or manual file handling is needed.

Troubleshooting

If an Animal Is Removed Unexpectedly
When an animal is removed via a data connector (either through an API Connector or a file-based connector) its historical data remains stored for a configurable period before permanent deletion. This grace period helps prevent accidental data loss. For example, if an animal is removed in error or transferred to another farm in your organization.

To adjust the retention period:
  • Go to the Data Connector app.
  • Select the gear icon in the top-right corner.
  • Set the value under Automatic cleanup animals after days:.
If Installation Fails
If a data connector cannot be installed, an orange exclamation mark appears on its tile on the Nedap Now home screen. To check which data connector is causing the issue:
  1. Open the Data Connector app.
  2. Review the list of data connectors currently installed.
Since it requires some detailed knowledge it is recommended that your Nedap Now

installer adds the Data Connector. Contact the installer when you encounter problems during installing.

Note

For more detailed information about API and CSV data connectors, see the Installation Manual: Nedap Now Data Connectors on the Partner Portal at https://partners.lm-nedap.com.
