The Nedap Now home screen is your central place for managing applications and system functions. This article explains when to use each app and provides an overview of their features and purposes.

The home screen of Nedap Now is your dashboard for managing applications and system functionalities. Depending on the device you use, the home screen may look slightly different:

When to Use Each App

Each application in Nedap Now is designed for specific routines or tasks. Some apps, such as those used during the initial setup, are used only once. Others, like Worklist, are essential for daily use. Here you find a summary of how apps are used at different routines and for different actions:

Application Descriptions

Farm setup

Purpose: Setting up and configuring your farm.

Functionality:


  • Enter your farm’s address.
  • Link your VPU license to the created farm in the Nedap Now company.
  • Add multiple farms if you operate a multisite location.

Frequency of Use: Once, during setup.

Device Connector
Purpose: Ensuring a stable connection between the VPU and Nedap Now.

Functionality:

Indicates the connection status.

Alerts you to connectivity issues, such as internet disruptions. 

Frequency of Use: Once, to confirm the connection is stable.
Tag
Purpose: Managing and monitoring animal tags.

Functionality:

Displays active tags in the system.

Shows the last known locations of the tags.

Frequency of Use: Occasionally

Can be used for adding new tags to the system, for example bij NFC with the cowcontrol App

Data Connector
Purpose: Synchronizing data with external farm management software.

Functionality:

Connects with systems managing animal data, feed schedules, and calendars.

Synchronizes data automatically when the app shows a green checkmark.

Frequency of Use: Once, to ensure proper data transfer during setup.

Settings
Purpose: Adjusting system configurations

Functionality:

Fine-tune reproduction details and detection settings for health and heat monitoring.

Customize your dashboard display and sensitivity levels.

Frequency of Use: During setup and occasionally, when you need to update settings.

Worklist
Purpose: Managing daily tasks and workflows.

Functionality:

Tracks essential tasks, such as:

Health checks.

In heat
To inseminate
Reproduction checks
Allows you to create custom worklists with specific filters and columns (My worklists).
Tag notifications, Calender events (dry-off, calving)
Frequency of Use: Daily, this is your primary operational app.


Cow
  • Purpose: Add animals, input data and view their details
  • Functionality:
    • Quick data entry.
    • View animal details (for example health, reproduction, calender events).
    • Add animals to the system (manualy or through a CSV import).
  • Frequency of Use: Occasionally
Herd
  • Purpose: Analyzing herd-level behavior and trends.
  • Functionality:
    • Group performance
    • Eating and ruminating patterns
    • Cycling rate
    • Heat stress
  • Frequency of Use: Periodically
Reports
  • Purpose: Create detailed reports about your herd.
  • Functionality
    • Generates detailed reports for consultants, veterinarians, or nutritionists.
  • Frequency of Use: Periodically
