The Quick entry feature allows you to quickly log user actions and calendar events for animals, either individually or in groups. Instead of filling in the same field over and over, you choose it once here. This feature is intended for users who do not use a farm management system or cannot connect via a data connector.

Step 1 - Open Quick Entry
- In the Cow app, select Quick entry.
- If you manage multiple farms, choose the relevant farm.
- Pick which user actions and calendar events you want to record.
- Set the default values for each action/event (see reference below).
These defaults will apply to every animal you add, unless you override them later. - Select Next step.

Step 2 - Add Animals
You can now add animals manually or based on filters.
Add animals manually
- Enter the animal number.
- Select Add.
- Repeat for each animal.
If the number is not recognized, an “Animal not found” message appears.
Add animals by filter
- Select Add animals based on filters.
- In the filter screen, adjust or add criteria as needed. See Overview of Filters and Columns.
- Select Add animals.
- The matching animals appear in the Selected animals panel.
Use the Remove button to remove any animal from the list.
You can also adjust the action or event values for individual animals directly in the list.
Step 3 - Submit
- Select Submit in the top-right corner.
The number next to it shows how many animals will be updated. - A confirmation message appears at the bottom: Ok. Actions submitted.
Caution
- User actions like Change pen and Remove tag cannot be undone.
- Calendar events added in bulk cannot be undone, but you can remove them individually in the Cow app.
Apply Pregnancy Checks
To mark animals as Pregnant, Not pregnant, or Uncertain, you must run Quick Entry separately for each group. Use a filter or select animals manually, then assign the matching result. Repeat this process for each status group.
