Understand the Dry Off Worklist

Modified on Tue, 12 Aug at 11:50 AM

The Dry off worklist helps you track animals that are nearing their dry period. It lists animals within a predefined number of days from their expected dry-off date, helping you confirm when to start the dry period.

How It Works

Animals are automatically added to the Dry off worklist based on their insemination date and expected dry off date.  You can adjust this value in the settings if needed.

What you See on the Dashboard

On the Worklist dashboard, the Dry off tile shows:

  • Today: The number of animals whose expected dry-off date is today.
  • Upcoming: The number of animals whose expected dry-off date falls within the predefined number of days, as configured in the settings [link].

Tabs Overview

The Dry Off worklist is divided into two tabs to help you track current and recently handled animals.

  • Active: Lists animals currently due for dry off.

  • Past week: Shows animals that were either dried off or removed from the Active tab within the last 7 days.

How to Interpret the Data

Focus on these columns in the worklist to determine next steps:

  • Expected dry off: This is the system-calculated dry-off date based on settings [link].
  • Days carried calf: Indicates how long the animal has been pregnant.

To see more detailed information, select the arrow icon at the end of the row to open the reproduction graph, or select the animal number to view the full overview.

Next Step

Once you’ve reviewed the data and confirmed that an animal is ready to start her dry period, you can update her status in the worklist.

See Confirm an Animal for Dry Off for step-by-step instructions.
