Create a Sorting List

Modified on Wed, 30 Jul at 9:46 AM

The Lists tab lets you sort multiple animals at once by entering animal numbers manually or importing them from a CSV file. Use this tab to:

  • Schedule animals to be sorted at a later time.
  • Schedule animals to be sorted multiple times within a predefined time window.
  • Create your own animal sorting list or import the list of animals to be sorted from your herd management software.

Create a Sorting List

  1. Select the Sorting app.
  2. Select Lists in the left panel. The Lists window opens.
  3. Select the required farm (if you have more than one farm).
  4. Select +New list (desktop version) or List (mobile version).
  5. The New list window opens. Enter the details for the new list:
    1. Name
    2. Sorting area
    3. Start date and time
    4. End date and time
    5. Select whether an animal can be sorted multiple times within the predefined time window.
    6. Enter a note (optional). This note will be visible next to the rule on the Lists page.
  6. If you want to enter the animal numbers one by one:
    1. Enter the animal numbers and select Add (desktop) or + icon (mobile).
    2. Select Submit when you are done. The animal numbers are added to the list.
  7. If you want to import the animal numbers from your herd management software:
    1. Make sure that your CSV file matches the requirements. You can find the requirements in Import Animals Using a CSV File.
    2. Select Import CSV in the upper-right corner. Select Submit. The animal list is added to the list that you are creating.
  8. When you are done, the Lists page shows the list that you just created.
