Put a SmartTag into Warranty Mode

Modified on Tue, 12 Aug at 3:49 PM

Only put a SmartTag into warranty mode if your business partner recommends it. This action is used when a SmartTag needs to be returned to the manufacturer, for example due to a defect that cannot be resolved.

Before taking this step, always try to troubleshoot the issue. See Resolve SmartTag Issues.
If the problem persists, contact your business partner.

What Warrenty Mode Does

Activating warranty mode deactivates the SmartTag and stops it from sending RF signals. This makes the tag safe for transport.

Caution

Once a SmartTag is deactivated via warranty mode, it cannot be reactivated.
