Create a Sorting Rule

Modified on Tue, 2 Sep at 3:06 PM

Use the Rules feature in the Sorting app to automatically sort animals based on conditions you define. This allows for consistent, hands-free sorting using health, heat, or SmartTag data.

Create a Sorting Rule:

  1. Open the Sorting app.
  2. Select Rules in the left panel.
  3. Select +New rule.
  4. Enter the Name of the new rule.
  5. Choose whether to add the rule to the top or the bottom of the priority list.
  6. Select Enabled to activate the rule immediately. You can disable or edit it at any time.
  7. Select Next step.
  8. Choose the Rule template that is the best fit for the new rule. Or select Custom to create a sorting rule from scratch
  9. Select Next step.
  10. Select the required Sorting area
  11. Enter the Start date and select the sorting frequency.
  12. Review all rule settings in the Summary window. Select Save.

Additional Tips

  • Use predefined templates for Heat, Health and SmartTagissues to save time.
  • If no sorting areas appear in step 10, contact your Nedap Business Partner to check the setup.
  • If an animal matches multiple sorting rules, the rule higher in the priority list determines the outcome.
  • Drag the six-dot icon next to a rule to change its position.
