Set Up or Adjust the Milking Times

Modified on Wed, 3 Sep at 8:58 AM

Milking times determine how session results and expected yields are calculated. If the times are incorrect, milking results may be assigned to the wrong session.

The start time of the first session also defines when the milk day begins, which affects all milking reports and overviews.

Make sure that each milking session:

  • Starts before the first cow of the session is milked.
  • Ends after the last cow of the session is milked.

Example

  • If the first session starts at the beginning of the calendar day, the milk day and calendar day are aligned.

  • If the first session starts later in the day, the milk day runs across two calendar days.

How to Set or Adjust the Milking Times

You can set the number of milking sessions and their times for each production group. The system calculates session end times automatically.

  1. Select Settings from the menu.
  2. Under Milking, select Milking times.
  3. For each production group, enter the number of milking sessions per day. The system creates that number of time fields for the group.
  4. Enter the start time of each session.

Example: If you set two sessions and enter 05:30 for session 1 and 16:30 for session 2, the system calculates: Session 1 = 05:30–16:29 and Session 2 = 16:30–05:29
  5. Repeat the setup for other groups if needed.

  6. Select Submit to save your changes.
