Adjust the Heat Attention Sensitivity

Modified on Tue, 3 Feb at 3:47 PM

To detect heat accurately, Velos must know when to create heat attentions. Correct configuration helps detect heats on time while limiting false attentions.

How Heat Detection Attentions Are Determined

Velos creates a heat attention when:

  • Activity exceeds the configured threshold.
  • This higher activity continues across multiple consecutive 2-hour periods.
  • The Velos heat detection algorithm also considers herd group behavior to reduce false-positive attentions.

How to Adjust Heat Sensitivity

Use the following steps to adjust heat detection attentions:

  1. Go to Settings > Heat detection > Attentions.

  2. Adjust the Sensitivity slider:

    • Lower sensitivity: Use when animals show strong and obvious heat behavior. This reduces unnecessary attentions.

    • Higher sensitivity: Use when animals show subtle heat behavior.

      Note

A higher sensitivity may lead to more false attentions.
A lower sensitivity may result in missed heats.

  3. Under Show attentions, set how many hours a heat attention remains visible.

  4. Select Submit to save your changes.
