SmartTags with a production code of T23 or later are shipped without aluminum foil bag. They are delivered in airplane mode inactive. After the SmartTag is attached to the cow and the tag has detected normal cow behavior for approximately 24 hours, the SmartTag will automatically start transmitting.
To activate data transmission manually, use the Nedap CowControl app on a smartphone.
1. Open the Nedap CowControl app on your smartphone.
2. Make sure you are logged out, then select Use offline service.
3. Select Activate SmartTags.
4. Hold the smartphone against the back of the SmartTag. Wait until the tag is scanned and activated.
5. Select Activate next SmartTag and repeat step 4 and 5 for the next tag.
6. After all tags are activated, select Close.
